Four skill descriptions were quietly breaking a rule I'd written into my own plugin system.

Claude Code loads every installed skill's description into the context window each turn. The default budget allocates ~8,000 characters for all of them combined — roughly 80 chars per skill if you have 100 installed, or 256 chars each at 31 skills.

The format I enforce is a three-part structure:
① A short description (≤80 chars) — survives aggressive truncation, always visible
② A capability sentence — what the skill actually does
③ A "Use when…" trigger phrase — tells the model when to fire it

Running /skill-reviewer:optimizing-skill-frontmatter across all 44 skills in my agentics marketplace surfaced four failures:
- validate-plugin: had two good sentences but no "Use when" trigger
- plan-agent/author: first sentence was 111 chars (should be ≤80)
- media-library: all three parts present but 270 chars total (14 over budget)
- project-share: first sentence 117 chars and missing a capability sentence entirely

Three needed description rewrites. One also got disable-model-invocation: true added — because a skill that generates screenshots and writes files to disk shouldn't auto-fire on a loose intent match.

Small fixes, but the kind that make a system behave predictably at scale.
